Manasquan, "New Jersey's Family Beach", is located in southern Monmouth County, on the North Jersey Coast Line and State Highway 71 just off Exit 98 on the Garden State Parkway just about half way between the cities of New York City and Atlantic City or at exactly 40.11° north of the equator and 74.03° west. With a population of just over 5369, Manasquan is part of the Monmouth-Ocean, New Jersey Metro Area. Manasquan's closest neighbors are Spring Lake, Sea Girt, Brielle and Point Pleasant.

Manasquan's wonderful white sand beaches make for excellent swimming, sunbathing, deep-sea and surf-fishing, surfing, scuba and skin diving and other watersports. Manasquan Beach might just have one of the best surf breaks on the East Coast. The Nearby Manasquan River, Manasquan Wildlife Management Area, Sea Girt, and the Sea Girt Lighthouse offer homeowners still further recreational opportunities. Other near-by recreational amenities include Six Flags Great Adventure at Jackson, New Jersey, Island Beach State Park at Seaside Park, New Jersey and Allaire State Park with it’s historical village. Manasquan provides plenty of opportunities for days spent hiking, mountain biking, and generally enjoying the wonders of nature! Manasquan's name is derived from an Indian term that has been translated as "island", "door", or "enclosure."
